Bios – Colleen

Colleen is an engaging and forward-thinking clarinetist and music educator based in Saint Paul, Minnesota. She is on the faculty at Century College where she teaches a variety of music courses and conducts the Century Chamber Orchestra. Colleen is passionate about community musicking, and performing works by underrepresented composers. She is also the principal clarinetist of the Newport Symphony Orchestra (Newport, OR). 

Colleen previously taught at Lander University, Willamette University, Corban University, and Chemeketa Community College, and held positions with the Rogue Valley Symphony, and Eugene Concert Orchestra. An active freelancer, Colleen has performed with the Lyric Opera of the North, Lady Band, Civic Orchestra of Minneapolis, Oregon Mozart Players, Eugene Symphony Orchestra, Oregon Coast Music Festival, Duluth Superior Symphony Orchestra, and Minnesota Ballet. She holds degrees from the University of Oregon, University of Minnesota Duluth, and Ithaca College where she studied with Louis DeMartino, Theodore Schoen, and Michael Galván, respectively..
